Feeding Our Future Defendant Said Farah Sentenced to Six and a Half Years in Juror Bribery Scheme

In St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, a federal judge on October 30 sentenced Said Farah to six and a half years in federal prison for his role in a scheme to bribe a juror in the Feeding Our Future fraud case.
Farah, 44, had been acquitted in the first Feeding Our Future trial, but was later convicted in the bribery case. Prosecutors said Farah and others offered a juror $120,000 in cash to vote for acquittal, and the juror immediately reported the bribe to authorities. Judge Eric Tostrud praised the juror as a hero and said jury bribery threatens the integrity of the justice system.
The case stems from one of the largest federal public-assistance fraud investigations in Minnesota in recent years; federal authorities also announced new related charges this week.
