Sunday, November 1, 2026 · Lifestyle · GSM News

Two Los Angeles County Department of Public Health wellness communities — the Pomona Wellness Community in the City of Pomona and the Whittier Wellness Community in the City of Whittier, in Los Angeles County, California — will offer free flu and COVID vaccinations on Wednesday, November 4, with no appointment needed and walk-ins welcome.

The Pomona Wellness Community will vaccinate from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on November 4 at 750 S. Park Ave, Pomona, CA 91766, phone 909-802-2650. The Whittier Wellness Community will vaccinate from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on November 4 at 7643 S. Painter Ave, Whittier, CA 90602, phone (562) 775-6104, with a second session on Thursday, November 12, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Both centers are run by the county Department of Public Health's Community and Field Services Division, and all activities are free and open to the community.

The Department of Public Health recommends an annual flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older; on October 22 it confirmed the first two flu deaths of this season in the county and reminded residents that influenza can cause serious illness. Residents looking for other free or low-cost vaccine clinics can check the Department of Public Health's clinic list or call the Public Health InfoLine at 1-833-540-0473, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The cities of Long Beach and Pasadena operate their own health departments, and residents there should check with their city health department for vaccination options.
