واشنطن، ٤ تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر - في اليوم التالي لانتخابات منتصف المدة، أدلى الرئيس دونالد ترامب بملاحظات في موقع بناء قاعة الحفلات الجديدة في البيت الأبيض، وقد فاز أول مثول عام له منذ الديمقراطيين بالأغلبيات في كل من المجلس ومجلس الشيوخ. وأطلق البيت الأبيض شريط فيديو رسمي كامل مدته ٤١ دقيقة؛ وانضم إليه وزير الداخلية دوغ بورغوم، وقام ترامب بجولة في الموقع ووقع على شعاع فولاذي مغطى بتوقيعات العمال، وكتابة " الحب " .

" لقد منعناهم من الحصول على سلاح نووي، ولن يكون لديهم سلاح نووي " . وعندما تنتهي الحرب، قال: " ستنتهي الحرب كلما أردتها. ولكن يجب أن يتم بشكل صحيح " . كما اعترف بأن الحرب قد دفعت أسعار البنزين وأثرت على شعور الناخبين.
