Atlanta Picks Developer to Rebuild 1932 School as Mixed-Use Hub
Atlanta is a city in Fulton County, Georgia. The City of Atlanta announced on Sept. 30 that Atlanta Public Schools and Atlanta Urban Development selected Ali-Graceline Development to redevelop the former Lakewood Heights Elementary School at 335 Sawtell Ave. SE. The Board of Education approved the development agreement and ground lease on Sept. 1, followed by AUD Board approval on Sept. 24, marking the first joint APS-AUD agreement. The plan preserves and adaptively reuses the 1932 school building in a 54,721-square-foot project with 42,721 square feet of residential space and 12,000 square feet of commercial space in a Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative area.
