Boston's Green Line signal modernization advances: 40 miles of new cable in, hub stations over 90% complete
Boston is a city in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Boston's century-old Green Line signal system is getting a modern overhaul. The MBTA said Oct. 5 that after nine straight days of around-the-clock tunnel work, crews have installed 40 of 72 planned miles of new signal cable and more than 85% of 129 new signal bungalows replacing 1940s equipment; the Copley, Park Street and Government Center hub stations stand at 100%, 98% and 95% complete.
