Three Charlotte Fire Investigators Lead North Carolina Arson Investigators Chapter
Charlotte is a city in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Three Charlotte Fire investigators now hold the top three leadership posts in the North Carolina chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators, serving as president, first vice president and second vice president. The city says that puts Charlotte personnel at the center of fire-investigation training statewide.
Their day-to-day work begins after flames are out: entering burned buildings, sorting debris and determining where a fire started and why. Charlotte Fire stresses that empathy matters as much as technique, because investigators often interview residents on one of the worst days of their lives while looking for answers that can bring closure.
