Charlotte CATS Adds Buses, New Connector and West Side Micro Zone Starting Oct. 5
Charlotte is a city in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Charlotte Area Transit System upgrades took effect Oct. 5, the first service change since Mecklenburg County voters approved a transportation sales-tax referendum. The Route 5 Airport Sprinter now runs every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends, Route 9 runs every 15 minutes daily, and Route 6 runs every 20 minutes on weekdays. Three express routes added peak trips, and Route 64X gained new hourly midday service. The new Route 177 links Uptown with park-and-ride lots in Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson. A new CATS Micro zone in West Charlotte also launched, running daily until 9 p.m.
