Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · City · GSM News

American Airlines Flight 41 blew a tire while landing at Chicago O'Hare International Airport in Illinois at about 2:30 p.m. Central Time on October 20. All 234 passengers and 11 crew members were uninjured. FAA public affairs specialist Rick Breitenfeldt said the crew reported a brake issue during landing and a tire blew after touchdown.

The Boeing 787-800 had departed Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport in Spain. American Airlines said first responders met the aircraft out of an abundance of caution and passengers were bused safely to the terminal. The aircraft was taken out of service for a full inspection by the airline's maintenance team. The FAA said the incident remained under investigation as of October 21.
