Dallas Council to Vote October 14 on Renaming Harwood Street Section
Dallas is a city in Dallas County, Texas. The Dallas Morning News reported that the City Council is scheduled to vote on Wednesday, October 14, on renaming a section of Harwood Street, which terminates at Klyde Warren Park. Developer Granite Properties has withdrawn its opposition to the renaming. Harwood Street is named for Alexander Harwood, who was elected Dallas County clerk in 1850. The proposal has prompted discussion of the street name's history during council deliberations.
