Dallas Council Approves Over $2.2 Million for Six New Traffic Signals Funded by 2024 Bond Program

Thursday, October 15, 2026 · City · GSM News

Dallas is a city in Dallas County, Texas. Dallas city reports said the Dallas City Council on October 14 approved two construction contracts totaling $2,231,351.28 to install six new traffic signals across the city, funded by the Street and Transportation fund of the 2024 bond program. The contracts were awarded through competitive bidding processes with seven and nine bidders.

EAR Telecommunications, LLC will install four of the six signals, and Texas Standard Construction, Ltd. will install the other two. The city said the signals target intersections identified as dangerous.

The council said the project is part of Dallas's Vision Zero effort, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and reduce serious-injury crashes. The transportation department is to publish the specific intersections and construction schedules.

According to council materials, the funding comes entirely from the Street and Transportation fund of the 2024 bond program, as part of that program's investment in roadway safety.
