Broncos Promote Prentice, Bring Back Humphrey on Practice Squad Ahead of 49ers Trip
Denver is a city in Denver County, Colorado (a consolidated city-county). The Denver Broncos made a series of roster moves on Saturday, October 3, ahead of Sunday's Week 4 game at the San Francisco 49ers. Fullback Adam Prentice was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster after wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey was released to make room; Humphrey then re-signed with the practice squad on Saturday.
Notably, Denver elevated no outside linebackers despite pass rusher Dondrea Tillman (hamstring) being ruled out, a decision that left Nik Bonitto, Jonah Elliss and Que Robinson as the team's only three healthy edge rushers against one of the NFL's five remaining undefeated teams. The Broncos entered the regionally televised CBS game as road underdogs, counting on Prentice's blocking and special-teams work to steady a thin roster on the road.
