Demolition Underway at Waikiki Lot Slated for Affordable Housing
Honolulu is a city in Honolulu County, Hawaii (a consolidated city-county). The city's land management department said on October 6 that demolition work is underway at 436 Ena Road in Waikiki, clearing the way for the site's future redevelopment as permanently affordable housing.
The project is part of the city's broader push to add homes on underused urban land. Officials say further details on plans and timelines will be released as work progresses, and nearby residents and businesses should expect construction-period traffic and noise.
