Texans Lose DL Mario Edwards Jr. for the Season to a Torn ACL

Houston is a city in Harris County, Texas. The Houston Texans' defensive front took another hit heading into October. Head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed that defensive lineman Mario Edwards Jr. suffered a torn ACL in the Week 3 loss to the Indianapolis Colts and will miss the rest of the regular season. Edwards was placed on injured reserve ahead of the Week 4 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
A longtime NFL defensive lineman with previous stops in Las Vegas and Dallas, Edwards was in his second stint with Houston and had been credited with two half sacks and four total tackles through the first three games. "We're going to miss him a lot," Ryans said. As a corresponding move, the Texans signed defensive end Chris Braswell from their practice squad; he is expected to rotate with Dominque Robinson, Logan Hall and rookie Sabastian Harsh. Houston hosts Dallas on Sunday, with kickoff at noon on FOX.
