I-10 Katy Freeway HOV Connector Closed for TxDOT Project; Nine METRO Bus Routes Affected
Houston is a city in Harris County, Texas. Houston media reported that the I-10 Katy Freeway HOV connector into downtown has been closed since October 9 for the Texas Department of Transportation's I-10 White Oak Bayou project, which will elevate the main lanes between I-45 and Heights Boulevard. METRO is advising riders to add 15 to 30 minutes to trips, with nine bus routes affected and some downtown stops relocated. The inbound connector is expected to reopen around fall 2027 and the outbound connector around summer 2028.
