Storm Sweeps Four Into Pacoima Wash in North Hills: Three Rescued by Helicopter

Heavy rain battered Los Angeles on the morning of October 22 as floodwaters swept four people into a drainage channel in the San Fernando Valley, prompting a dramatic water rescue.
According to the New York Post, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a report of a man and a woman trapped in the Pacoima Wash near 15012 West Parthenia Street in North Hills, where downpours had sent the narrow channel surging. Firefighters rescued the two by helicopter, then searched for two other people reported missing. A third person was found clinging to a structure and rescued, and the fourth had gotten out on their own. Officials said none of the four had life-threatening injuries.
The rescue came as a strong fall storm system moved across the Los Angeles area. Footage cited by the Post came from KTLA. (GSM, based on New York Post reporting)
