LAUSD Board Approves Developers for Nearly 600 Potential Workforce Housing Units
Los Angeles is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Los Angeles Unified announced on October 6 that its Board of Education has approved the selection of affordable housing developers for nearly 600 potential workforce housing units for district employees, a step toward helping teachers and staff live closer to the schools where they work.
As one of the county's largest landowners, the district has been repurposing underused school-owned land for employee housing under its workforce housing initiative, with several apartment projects already built on campus land and leased with priority to district staff. The newly selected developments will now move into planning and community review.
