Fall Mosquito Tips as Dengue Alert Continues in Miami-Dade
Miami is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Miami-Dade County issued fall mosquito tips on Oct. 1. Cooler weather and less rain should lower mosquito numbers, but not eliminate them, and the mosquito-control division will keep up surveillance, inspections and area treatments as needed.
With the county under a mosquito-borne illness alert after locally transmitted dengue cases, crews have stepped up truck spraying for larvae and adult mosquitoes. Residents are urged to drain standing water and use registered repellent, and can request an inspection through 311.
