Minneapolis Streamlines Construction Permit Process
Minneapolis is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. On October 2, Minneapolis announced a change to its construction permit process designed to move more applications through in days rather than weeks. The city says the streamlined steps still comply with applicable building codes.
The economic development department expects hundreds of permits each year to benefit, helping builders and homeowners start work sooner. Officials stressed that faster timelines will not lower safety review standards.
