Kenyan Runners Sweep Twin Cities Marathon as Women's Course Record Falls

Minneapolis is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. The 2026 Twin Cities Marathon started in downtown Minneapolis on Sunday, October 4, finishing at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul. Kenyan runners swept both titles: the women's champion clocked 2 hours, 25 minutes and 26 seconds to break a course record that had stood for 25 years, while the men's winner finished in 2 hours, 12 minutes and 20 seconds in his first full marathon. Organizers reported a record field of more than 30,000 registrants across the weekend's events, which wound around city lakes and across the Mississippi River.
