Chinatown Marks Mid-Autumn with a Shared Table on Mott Street

Saturday, October 3, 2026 · City · GSM News

New York City is a city in New York County, New York. On October 3, Mott Street between Canal and Bayard streets in Manhattan's Chinatown became one long community table. Presented by Chinatown Partnership and AAAAH Culture, the Mid-Autumn celebration A Shared Table Across A Thousand Miles ran from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and was free to the public. Visitors joined an object-and-story exchange, voted in a people's mooncake poll, and traced family journeys on a mooncake migration map. The community stage at Mott and Bayard featured music and the Lin Sing Choir, while Hanfu NYC offered traditional Chinese face-painting. Organizers invited longtime residents, new immigrants, and first-time visitors alike to bring a small object or photograph and share what Chinatown means to them.
