Portland warns of periodic northbound lane closures on N Greeley Avenue for flood-mitigation work starting Oct. 12

Portland is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon. The Portland Bureau of Transportation said on Oct. 9 that contractors will begin flood-mitigation work on Monday, Oct. 12, installing new inlets and piping on N Greeley Avenue between N Interstate Avenue and N Going Street. The work will require periodic northbound vehicle lane closures as well as periodic closures of the N Greeley Avenue Multi-Use Path.
During work hours, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., the city advised travelers to expect delays, travel cautiously, obey closures and traffic-control devices, follow flagger directions and use alternate routes when possible. The added inlets and piping are intended to direct water away from the periodically flooded roadway and path, and the city said the work is funded by Portland’s voter-approved 10-cent gas tax for street repairs and safety.
