Sacramento Region Wins $46 Million for Pavement and Road Repairs

Monday, October 5, 2026 · City · GSM News

Sacramento is a city in Sacramento County, California. The Sacramento Area Council of Governments announced on October 5 that $46 million in federal grants will fund pavement preservation and road rehabilitation across the six-county Sacramento region. The awards are part of SACOG's 2026 Federal Funding Cycle, which will allocate about $203 million this year. Funded projects include about $1.06 million for pavement work in Marysville's Historic Business District, $2.81 million for Folsom Boulevard in Rancho Cordova and $3.45 million for roads in Yuba City. SACOG leaders said fixing streets early lowers long-term costs and keeps goods moving. Drivers should expect phased construction and occasional detours, and can check city public works pages and SACOG's project list for schedules in their neighborhood.
