San Diego Mayor Pushes Back on Trump's Remarks About the City
San Diego is a city in San Diego County, California. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria issued a statement on October 6 responding to remarks by President Trump suggesting that a foreign adversary taking out San Diego would be a small price to pay. Gloria forcefully rejected that characterization.
The mayor noted that San Diego is a cornerstone of U.S. Pacific security and home to about 1.4 million residents, calling the comments irresponsible. He urged the president to retract the statement and apologize.
