224 San Jacinto High School Seniors Qualify for Conditional Direct Admission to 17 CSU Campuses

Wednesday, October 21, 2026 · City · GSM News

In San Jacinto, Riverside County, California, 224 seniors at San Jacinto High School have qualified for conditional admission to 17 participating California State University campuses. The San Jacinto Unified School District announced the news on October 9. The qualifications come through the CSU Direct Admission Program, an initiative offered through a partnership between the Riverside County Office of Education and the California State University system, designed to make higher education more accessible to graduating seniors.

Under the program, students who are on track to complete California's A-G college preparatory course requirements can qualify for conditional admission to participating CSU campuses. Students must still complete the necessary enrollment steps and meet academic requirements, but the program offers a more direct route to a four-year university. Each qualifying student also receives a code to submit one CSU application free of charge, and additional application fee waivers may be available based on family income. San Jacinto High School held a CSU Direct Admission celebration and information meeting on October 2 to walk students through the application process, admission requirements and next steps.

School counselors are encouraging eligible seniors to move forward with their applications while maintaining strong academic performance through their final year, and are available to help with financial aid applications, scholarship opportunities and other college-preparation decisions.
