San Francisco Welcomes Uniqlo Flagship Back Downtown as Mayor Touts Recovery
San Francisco is a city in San Francisco County, California (a consolidated city-county). San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie on October 8 welcomed Uniqlo back downtown, ahead of the October 9 opening of a new flagship store at 801 Market Street. The roughly 20,000-square-foot, two-story store at Fourth and Market will reactivate a long-vacant storefront, employ more than 80 people and open with a free street festival.
The store will sell exclusive merchandise designed with the SFMTA, students from SFUSD's Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, and local artists. The mayor framed the return as progress under his Heart of the City plan to revitalize downtown.
