Friday, October 9, 2026 · City · GSM News

Seattle is a city in King County, Washington. Seattle Mayor Katie B. Wilson on October 8 announced the 53 members of the Housing Production Task Force, created by Executive Order 2026-04. Members come from organized labor, affordable housing providers, community-driven organizations and market-rate developers, with three co-chairs, and will work with the Mayor's Office, the Office of Planning and Community Development, the Office of Housing and the Department of Construction and Inspections. After an orientation in the coming weeks, the task force will spend 12 months developing proposals to expedite housing production, support community-driven development, strengthen affordable housing infrastructure and prevent displacement of low-income households, including Black, Indigenous and people of color communities. A status update with early policy recommendations is due by February 2027, with final recommendations for 2028 and 2029 due by September 2027.
