SFUSD Invites Every San Francisco Family to Weigh In on Elementary School Assignments

San Francisco is a city in San Francisco County, California (a consolidated city-county). The San Francisco Unified School District opened a survey on October 1 asking families across the city to share their views on how students should be assigned to elementary schools in the future. The survey covers how children get to school, what families know about schools near their homes, and what a school would need for parents to feel comfortable enrolling their child.
Every San Francisco family is invited to take part, including those whose children attend private or charter schools or are not yet enrolled. The anonymous survey is offered in seven languages, including Chinese. District staff plan to report back publicly in October on what families said, to help guide the Board of Education's decisions.
