St. Louis Reopens Tuskegee Airmen Field After $2.4 Million Upgrade
St. Louis is an independent city in Missouri. The City of St. Louis has completed $2.4 million in improvements at Tuskegee Airmen Field in Tandy Park, next to Sumner High School, and formally rededicated the venue. Its newly installed artificial turf is described by the city as the only field of its kind in St. Louis.
The project also added a track, bleachers, a scoreboard, fencing and a public-address system for youth football, soccer and lacrosse. The field honors the Tuskegee Airmen of World War II, and its midfield now carries the group's emblem with national permission.
