New York Fashion Week Spring 2027: 70 Shows and a First-Ever Fur-Free Official Calendar

Tuesday, September 15, 2026 · Fashion · GSM News

NEW YORK — New York Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2027 season ran from September 10 to 15, 2026, with 70 runway shows and presentations on the official calendar published by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). For the first time in the event's history, the CFDA's official calendar was entirely fur-free, under a policy taking effect this season.

On the eve of the week, September 9, Ralph Lauren showed his Spring 2027 collection ahead of the official start. The calendar opened on September 10 with Henry Zankov's first collection as artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg. Out of respect for the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Friday's schedule did not begin until 10 a.m.

Thom Browne closed the week on September 15 at The Shed with a garden-themed show built around metamorphosis: a giant chrysalis stood at the center of the set, tailored suits carried insect and botanical embroidery and sequin appliqués, and the finale saw the chrysalis open to reveal a closing look with wings. Thom Browne's Spring 2027 menswear had been shown earlier, in Milan in June.

Other names on the calendar included Coach, Rachel Comey, marking 25 years, and Cult Gaia. (GSM, compiled from the CFDA official calendar and published reports)
