Milan Fashion Week Spring 2027: Gucci Stages Its Show Inside a Boutique as Prada Opens the Week

MILAN — Milan Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2027 womenswear season, organized by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), ran from September 22 to 28, 2026, with more than 90 events including 60 shows — 54 physical and 6 digital. The final day, September 28, was all-digital.
Prada opened the week, an unusual slot for the house: its September 22 show presented 63 looks, all skirts — no trousers and no dresses. On September 23, Maria Grazia Chiuri presented her second collection for Fendi.
On September 25, Gucci creative director Demna staged his second show, "The Store Show," inside a full-scale replica of a Gucci boutique — marble walls, velvet seating, classical statues and shelves of accessories — previewing the brand's future retail concept. The collection was built on three pillars: equestrian heritage, a character called "La Signora," and sharp tailoring. The same day, Moschino's new creative directors Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo made their debut.
This was the first Milan womenswear season since Giorgio Armani's death in September 2025 at age 91; the house, now led by his niece Silvana Armani, closed the physical calendar. Versace, Emporio Armani and BOSS were absent this season. Vogue World was held in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on opening night. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni attended the Camera Moda dinner, the first sitting Italian prime minister at Milan Fashion Week in a decade, with the government pledging 100 million euros in support for the fashion industry. CNMI figures put Italian fashion revenue at a projected 91.4 billion euros for 2026, down 8 percent since 2023. (GSM, compiled from CNMI and brand releases and published reports)
