Regents Approve $2.6M UArizona Gender-Pay Settlement

[TUCSON] The Arizona Board of Regents on October 1 approved the University of Arizona's $2.6 million settlement of gender pay-discrimination claims, azcentral reported. The settlement covers female faculty and staff who alleged systemic pay gaps.
The deal also requires the university to conduct pay-equity audits and set up periodic review mechanisms. The university admitted no discrimination but said it wants to move forward.
Plaintiffs' attorneys called the settlement an important step toward pay equity; the university said it remains committed to fair-pay policies.
