Denver Water's Mandatory Sprinkler Ban Takes Effect October 1

[DENVER] Denver Water's mandatory lawn-sprinkler ban took effect October 1, closing the summer watering season and opening winter conservation rules, the-sun.com reported. During the ban, residents may not run automatic sprinkler systems on lawns.
Denver Water said October through April is the non-irrigation season, when dormant lawns need no watering; violations can draw fines. The utility also reminded customers that indoor conservation matters and offers free water-saving devices.
With Colorado facing persistent drought in recent years, the utility called the seasonal ban a routine measure to protect next year's supply.
