2 Teens Hurt in Shooting at Eden Prairie High Homecoming; Suspect Arrested

Friday, October 2, 2026 · States · GSM News

Two teenagers were wounded in a shooting during homecoming festivities at Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota on October 2, and a suspect was arrested, the New York Post and FOX 9 reported.

Police identified the suspect as Adam Abdihakeem Adam. Both victims were hospitalized in stable condition. The school was briefly locked down as officers searched the campus and surroundings before taking the suspect into custody.

Eden Prairie police said the shooting appears to stem from a dispute between specific individuals, not a random attack, and there is no ongoing threat. Investigators say those involved knew each other, and the gun's origin is still being traced.

The district announced tightened security for remaining homecoming events and counseling for students. Homecoming is a cherished annual tradition at American high schools; the shooting cast a shadow over the celebration and renewed debate over youth gun access.
