Montana Governor Announces Trade Mission to India
Gov. Greg Gianforte announced October 2 he will lead a Montana strategic trade delegation to India to expand bilateral economic ties, according to news.mt.gov.
The delegation includes business representatives from agriculture, energy, and technology. Meetings with Indian officials and business leaders will spotlight Montana farm products, energy, and outdoor industries, aiming to grow exports to India.
Gianforte said India is among the world's fastest-growing economies, with strong potential for Montana wheat, beef, and energy. U.S. farm exports to India have grown steadily in recent years, and Montana wants a bigger share.
A detailed itinerary will be released soon. The state commerce department said the delegation will also explore Indian partnerships in IT and renewable energy, matchmaking for Montana businesses.
