Manhattan Beach May Move Parking Rules Into a New Traffic Code to Enable Zone-Based Paid Parking
Manhattan Beach is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Manhattan Beach's Parking and Public Improvements Commission voted on August 20 to recommend that the City Council adopt amendments moving parking-meter provisions from Title 3 of the municipal code into a new Title 14, to support a zone-based paid parking system. The system would use pay stations, a mobile payment app and license-plate-recognition enforcement in place of the traditional single-meter model. The recommendation passed 5-0. The City Council will consider whether to adopt it, with details subject to the final ordinance.
