Fever Exit Interviews: GM Defends Fans, Mitchell Addresses Clark Fan Pressure

Saturday, October 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever held season-ending exit interviews on Oct. 3, with general manager Amber Cox and players reviewing the season and looking ahead to the offseason, the Indianapolis Star reported. Cox used the session to defend the team's fans against criticism of fan culture around the club.

Cox said the Fever's fan base is large and passionate, and that the vast majority of fans conduct themselves well — the actions of a few should not define the whole group. She stressed the franchise values its supporters and will keep strengthening community ties in the offseason.

Guard Kelsey Mitchell addressed the intense spotlight surrounding star Caitlin Clark, acknowledging that the attention Clark brings is both fuel and pressure, and that the team is learning to navigate life under the microscope.

Head coach Stephanie White's first season was another focal point. Management said offseason roster moves and player development plans are already underway, with the goal of going further next season. Despite an up-and-down year, the growth of the young core has the front office optimistic about the future.
