BOZEMAN, Mont. — FCS No. 1 Montana State saw its 19-game winning streak snapped on Oct. 3, falling 35-34 to Idaho at home, NCAA.com reported. Idaho scored a touchdown on the final play and converted the two-point try to pull off the monumental upset.

Down one after the late touchdown, Idaho's head coach boldly went for two instead of kicking the tying extra point. The Vandals converted under pressure, sending the visiting sideline into delirium.

Montana State, the most dominant team in the FCS during its 19-game run, was left stunned at home. The head coach said afterward the defense failed to execute in the critical moment and took responsibility for the loss.

For Idaho, the win is a program-defining triumph. The upset vaults the Vandals up the conference standings and brightens their playoff outlook considerably.
