New Hampshire Book Festival Draws 60-Plus Authors to Concord on Oct. 3

CONCORD, N.H. — The annual New Hampshire Book Festival took over Concord on Oct. 3, bringing more than 60 acclaimed authors, poets, illustrators and literary moderators together for a day of conversations, signings and family-friendly programming, Manchester Ink Link reported. The free, all-day festival has become a marquee fall literary event in New England.
This year's headliners were two international bestsellers: Jodi Picoult, who delivered the Opening Keynote on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., and Jeff Kinney, creator of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, who presented the Children's Keynote on Oct. 2 and closed the festival with the Family Keynote on Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Programming spanned fiction, nonfiction, poetry, children's literature, young adult novels and graphic storytelling. Panels were moderated by authors and literary professionals, including contributors from New Hampshire Public Radio and The Concord Monitor.
Festival co-founder Sarah McCraw Crow said this year's lineup covers a wide range of genres and subjects — from multi-award-winning veterans with longtime readerships to debut authors — giving readers of all ages the chance to engage directly with the people behind the books they love.
Organizers said the festival aims to promote reading culture and connect writers with the community. After two days of keynote warm-ups, the Oct. 3 all-day celebration brought the event to its peak, drawing book lovers from across the state.
