$1.78 Million Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot Ticket Sold in Newark
NEWARK, N.J. — The Oct. 3 Jersey Cash 5 drawing produced a $1.78 million jackpot winner, with the lucky ticket sold at El Caballo Blanco in Newark, northjersey reported on Oct. 5.
Jersey Cash 5 is drawn nightly, with the jackpot growing from drawing to drawing. The $1.78 million prize is among the game's larger recent jackpots. The winner had not yet come forward as of the report. New Jersey Lottery officials remind winners they have up to a year to claim prizes and advise consulting financial and legal advisers before doing so.
The retailer that sold the winning ticket also earns a bonus. The shop's owner said news of the jackpot brought a stream of well-wishers — and a noticeable bump in ticket sales.
New Jersey Lottery proceeds support education and public institutions across the state. Officials also remind players to play responsibly.
