Corey Day Wins NASCAR Focused Health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
LAS VEGAS — Corey Day won the NASCAR O'Reilly Series Focused Health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Oct. 3, Racing News reported. Day took the lead in the middle stages and held it to the finish in the 302-mile contest.
Run on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas oval, the race featured pack battles throughout. Day's car was strongest over long runs, and sharp pit strategy helped him cross the line several car lengths clear of second place.
The victory is a significant one for Day's season and adds crucial points to his playoff push. The crew chief said afterward the car's setup and the team's execution were both at their best — a total team win.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts multiple premier NASCAR events each year as a key stop on the series' western swing. Tens of thousands of fans packed the stands for a raucous race day.
