Trump Rallies in Vandalia, Ohio, Backing GOP Candidates Ahead of Midterms

Saturday, October 3, 2026 · States · GSM News

VANDALIA, Ohio — Former President Donald Trump held a rally at Butler High School in Vandalia on Oct. 3, campaigning ahead of the midterm elections, Reuters reported. Trump stumped for Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Ohio's U.S. Senate seat is among the most closely contested races of the midterms. Trump attacked Democratic opponents in his remarks and defended data centers and other debated issues, saying the investments would bring jobs and economic growth to Ohio. Supporters packed the venue in a high-energy atmosphere.

Husted faces a tight Senate battle as Republicans fight to hold the seat, while Ramaswamy is running to succeed the outgoing governor. Trump's visit was seen as a major push as Ohio's races enter the home stretch.

Vandalia police set up traffic controls around Butler High School for the event, with crowds lining up hours in advance. The rally was one of several Trump has held for the midterms this year.
