Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao Visits Naval Base Kitsap Oct. 3-5

KITSAP, Wash. — Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao visited Naval Base Kitsap in Washington state from Oct. 3 to 5, meeting with sailors and Marines stationed there, the Kitsap Sun reported on Oct. 7. It was Cao's first visit to the key West Coast installation since taking office.
During the visit, Cao toured base facilities and sat down with frontline personnel to hear about their training, duties and daily life. Naval Base Kitsap is the Navy's premier Pacific Northwest installation, homeporting aircraft carriers, ballistic-missile submarines and other vessels with critical strategic missions.
Cao praised the dedication of Kitsap's service members, calling them the backbone of America's forward-deployed naval power. He also received briefings from base commanders on readiness, facilities maintenance and family support.
Sailors welcomed the visit. One said meeting the Navy's top civilian leader face to face — and hearing about the service's future direction — was genuinely inspiring.
