DENVER — Colorado Governor Jared Polis proclaimed October 2026 as Colorado Manufacturing Month on Oct. 1, coinciding with National Manufacturing Day (Oct. 2) and recognizing manufacturing's contribution to the state economy.

According to the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, the state has more than 5,000 manufacturing firms contributing over $31 billion annually — 5.1% of state GDP — and employing more than 149,000 workers across aerospace, food processing, electronics, medical devices and other sectors.

The chamber said Manufacturing Month will feature factory open houses, skills demonstrations and student tours introducing young people to manufacturing careers. The state called manufacturing a key pillar of Colorado's diversified economy and said it will keep supporting the sector through workforce training and tax policy.

Nationally, the Manufacturing Institute organizes Manufacturing Day each October, inviting students and the public inside factories. Colorado has participated for many consecutive years.
