ANNAPOLIS — Governor Wes Moore announced on October 6 a $3.7 billion private capital investment by Anduril Industries in "Arsenal-2," a new two-million-square-foot software-defined shipyard in Baltimore County. It is the largest single private investment and largest job creator in Maryland in over a decade.

The facility is expected to support over 14,000 jobs, including more than 3,100 new permanent positions, according to the governor's office. The project will rise at Sparrows Point, the Baltimore region's historic steelmaking site. Senator Angela Alsobrooks and Congressman Johnny Olszewski both issued statements saying the investment will boost the regional economy and support the Navy's efforts to increase submarine production and advance submarine technology.

Moore said Maryland continues to stand at the forefront of technology, innovation and national security, and the investment will deliver good-paying jobs to thousands of Maryland families while writing the next chapter of Sparrows Point's industrial legacy.
