Mountain Goat Hunt Near Juneau Closes Early
Alaska's Department of Fish and Game issued an emergency order closing the mountain goat hunting season near Juneau, effective 11:59 p.m. Sunday, October 4. According to the Juneau Empire on October 8, wildlife biologists found the area's goat population below management objectives during aerial surveys and ended the season early to protect the herd's future.
