According to AroundFortWayne, the black-background plate has been a runaway hit since its debut, becoming one of the best-selling specialty plates in Indiana history. Proceeds are earmarked for designated state public programs. Braun said the plate's popularity reflects Hoosiers' pride in their state, and more locally themed designs are on the way.
