Former Kansas TV Anchor Sentenced to Life for Mother's Murder
Former Wichita television news anchor Angelynn Mock was sentenced to life in prison on October 5 for murdering her mother. According to local media, a jury had previously convicted Mock of murder, and the judge handed down the life sentence at a sentencing hearing. Mock was once a well-known TV anchor in Wichita, and her case shocked the community. Prosecutors presented evidence that Mock killed her mother amid family conflict; the defense argued mental health issues and sought leniency, which the court rejected. The victim's family members gave statements in court, calling the sentence long-delayed justice.
