Monday, October 5, 2026 · States · GSM News

Defense technology company Anduril Industries announced plans to invest $3.7 billion in an “Arsenal-2” software-defined shipyard in Baltimore County, Maryland. According to EIN Presswire on October 6, it is the largest private investment in Maryland in more than a decade; the facility will build next-generation autonomous vessels and naval systems. Anduril, known for SI and autonomous systems, has won several large Pentagon contracts in recent years. Maryland officials said the shipyard is expected to create thousands of manufacturing and engineering jobs and help transform Baltimore's traditional shipbuilding industry. The site near Chesapeake Bay offers strong waterway access, with construction timing pending environmental review.
