Chino Hills: California Regional MLS sues Compass in defense of its listing cooperation rules

Chino Hills is a city in San Bernardino County, California. California Regional Multiple Listing Service (CRMLS), headquartered in Chino Hills, announced on October 5 that it has filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking a declaratory judgment that its listing cooperation rules are fair, procompetitive and lawful.
CRMLS says Compass wants to benefit from access to the multiple listing service while keeping its own for-sale listings off the MLS, creating an unequal marketplace. CRMLS is also forming an MLS Cooperation Legal Defense Fund in support of consumer transparency and equal listing access.
