Vermont Advances Cannabis Events Pilot Program, Public Hearing Set for Oct. 7
Vermont's Cannabis Control Board is advancing a cannabis events pilot program. According to a meeting recap published October 5 by cannabis industry media, the board reached preliminary consensus on the pilot's framework and scheduled a public hearing for October 7 to gather public input. The pilot would give licensed cannabis businesses a legal pathway to host tastings, expos and other in-person events, with organizers required to obtain special permits and follow rules on venues, security and youth protection. Vermont opened its adult-use retail cannabis market in 2022, and the pilot is seen as another expansion of the state's regulatory framework. The board said it will refine the rules based on hearing feedback before a final vote.
